Heidi Jeffreys, MPAS, PA-C has been a member of Physician Network Services since she graduated from the Texas Tech Physician Assistant Program in 2005. She worked as a hospitalist at University Medical Center in Lubbock providing inpatient care to internal medicine patients on med surge and ICU floors until 2008. During this time, she was a preceptor for Texas Tech physician assistant students during their clinical rotations. In September of 2008, she moved to Fresh Outlook Medical Aesthetics. She now primarily sees patients requiring aesthetic procedures and in consultation of hormone imbalances. Heidi has always had a passion for wellness and healthy living in an aging population. In keeping with this, she continues to see elderly patients part time who require evaluation in a nursing home setting.
Heidi is happily married to her husband Andrew. They met in Alaska while doing their undergraduate work. In Alaska, she enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hiking, salmon fishing, skiing and snowmobiling. She continues to enjoy outdoor activities as well as yoga and Pilates. Heidi enjoys spending her free time with her family and playing classical piano. Heidi has two young children, Ian is six and Alexia is four.
June 2015 - present | Lubbock Plastic Surgery Institute, Lubbock, Texas - Physician Assistant provider practicing under the supervision of Robert P. Schmid, MD, and R. Clark Mooty, M.D.; specializing in treatments with laser for skin resurfacing, acne, vein/telangiectasia removal, and hair removal. Perform advanced Botox and filler injections with Juvéderm, Radiesse, Perlane and Restylane. Also specializing in hormone imbalancing treatment with BIOTE protocol.
September 2008 - Present | Physician Network Services, Lubbock, Texas (Dr. Vernon Farthing) Responsibilities: Provide management of chronic medical conditions and issues specific to long term nursing home patients. Duties include providing admission orders, laboratory analysis, treatment optimization, and appropriate consultation.
October 2013 - May 2015 | Physician Network Services, Fresh Outlook Cosmetic Dermatology, Lubbock, Texas - BioTe Provider Responsibilities: Provide consultation for patients with hormone imbalances, nutritional deficiencies and weight control issues. Formulate a plan of care using bio- identical hormone therapy and nutritional supplementation to achieve a goal of wellness and healthy aging. This includes surgical implantation of hormone pellets and routine period follow up to optimize results.
April 2008 - May 2015 | Physician Network Services, Fresh Outlook Cosmetic Dermatology, Lubbock, Texas (Dr. Vernon Farthing) - Responsibilities: Provide consultation for patients in an outpatient setting for non pathologic skin issues. Duties include treatment with laser for skin resurfacing, acne, vein/telangiectasia removal, and hair removal. Perform advanced Botox and filler injections with Juvéderm, Radiesse, Perlane and Restylane. Acting clinic administrator responsibilities include budgeting and marketing strategies to optimize business profitability.
September 2005 - April 2008 | Physician Network Services, University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas (Dr. Kenneth Michael Rice) - Responsibilities: Provide care to hospital patients from time of admission until discharge in multiple settings including cardiac intensive care, medical intensive care, surgical intensive care, orthopedic, hematology/oncology, renal, and medical/surgical floors. Duties include rounding on all patients daily, consulting appropriately, laboratory analysis, treatment optimization, ventilator management, utilization of ACLS protocol in the event of cardiopulmonary arrest, and update patient care plan to family members. Patient plan of care and current condition is discussed with physician and other midlevel providers upon completion of daily rounds. The physician monitors patient progress via power chart system, cosigns all notes, and is available to see patients upon request.
October 2005 - August 2006 | Physician Network Services Urgent Care, Plainview, Texas - Responsibilities: Provide primary medical care to pediatric and adult populations in a rural, urgent health care facility with no doctors on site. Accommodates the full spectrum of patient presentations, including suturing major lacerations.
May 2003 - August 2005 | Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, School of Allied Health Sciences Physician Assistant Program, Midland, Texas Master of Physician Assistant Studies - Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, School of Allied Health Science, PA Program, Midland, Texas. Completed eight six-week rotations as the practicum component of the Master of Physician Assistant Studies.
